How to Understand Pregnancy Test Results

EPT Pregnancy Test Results

One such over the counter test is called the EPT Pregnancy Test. This test can be digital or non-digital and can detect a pregnancy within 5 days of your missed period. If you try to test any earlier than that, you will get no result or a very faint plus sign will appear, indicating that you are in the earliest stages of pregnancy. If you have an ectopic pregnancy, the test will still be positive and you won’t know that the pregnancy is ectopic until you have symptoms of pain in the lower abdomen and vaginal bleeding. If you experience these symptoms, see your doctor right away to be evaluated.

The test results on an EPT test that is non-digital will show a blue plus sign if you are pregnant. It will show a minus sign if you are not pregnant. All you have to do is pee on the test stick and wait about 2-3 minutes to get your results. Digital tests will say “Pregnant” or “Not pregnant” and are easier to interpret than the plus/ minus tests.

The other pregnancy tests read the same thing (the HCG levels) but will have slightly different positive and negative readings. This is why it is important to read the instructions before taking any pregnancy test.
